Making Your Own Players Bench
Making Your Own Player’s Bench
Most people think that the primary reason for making your players bench yourself is about saving money. While this may be true in some cases, there are other reasons for doing it yourself. When one makes his own equipment himself, one gains more knowledge, acquires new skills or develops already existing ones, and one gains an immense feeling of satisfaction gained from building your own equipment. These three things are worth more than money. As you continue to build, you enable your learning processes to be trained and if in the future you will build something new again it will be significantly easier to do so.
When making your own players bench, you will be able to construct it according to your own specifications. The first things that you will need would be the basic tools such as a hammer, nails, screw, screwdriver, and a saw.
One of the first things that you need to consider when building a players bench is the location. If the bench will be located in a dugout, it is important to consider the size of the dugout itself and how much of the dugout’s space is the non-bench are. Another thing that you need to consider would be the dimension of the bench and this mainly depends on how many players there are in the team. Decide if you want a small one-that would measure about six to nine feet, a medium one-that would be about fifteen to seventeen feet long, or a long one-that would be about twenty-one feet long. If the bench to be used is for a competition, it is advisable to check with the sports officials beforehand. Also consider the type of materials you would want to use. Wooden benches are easier and cheaper to make. One drawback to a wooden bench is that they wood might chip. You can minimize this by applying a coat over the wood. If you want a sturdier players bench, you can try galvanized steel although this would require more work on your part.
